TRAINING ONLINE AID INTERMEDIATE LEVEL:
To build upon the basic aid skills and knowledge of participants and enhance their ability to provide effective first aid in various emergency situations.
To deepen the understanding of medical conditions and injuries that may require immediate attention and appropriate response.
To develop the participants’ confidence and competence in administering first aid in a controlled and structured manner.
Duration: 3 days (18 hours)
Prerequisites:
Participants should have completed a Basic First Aid training or possess equivalent knowledge and skills.
Topics TRAINING ONLINE AID INTERMEDIATE LEVEL:
Day 1: Review of Basic First Aid
Recap of Basic First Aid Skills
Revisiting primary assessment (DR ABC)
Bandaging techniques and wound care
Handling burns and scalds
Choking management
Advanced CPR Techniques
CPR for adults, children, and infants
Use of AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
Dealing with Shock and Serious Bleeding
Identification and management of shock
Control of severe bleeding and use of tourniquets
Day 2: Medical Emergencies
Respiratory Emergencies
Recognizing respiratory distress and respiratory arrest
Assisting with asthma attacks and allergic reactions
Cardiovascular Emergencies
Understanding heart attacks and angina
Responding to stroke and transient ischemic attacks (TIA)
Diabetic Emergencies
Hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia management
Administering glucagon for severe hypoglycemia
Day 3: Trauma and Environmental Emergencies
Musculoskeletal Injuries
Assessment and management of fractures, sprains, and strains
Immobilization techniques
Head and Spinal Injuries
Identification of head injuries and concussions
Spinal injury management and immobilization
Environmental Emergencies
Heat-related illnesses (heat exhaustion, heatstroke)
Cold-related illnesses (hypothermia, frostbite)
Training Methodology:
Lectures and presentations by the instructor
Demonstrations and practical exercises
Hands-on practice with various first aid scenarios
Group discussions and case studies
